Hi.

Welcome to my website where I document all the beautiful happenings in my life. Stay awhile and enjoy!

New Studio!

New Studio!

As some of you may know, I’ve opened my third dane studio - Ballroom College!

I’ve had this concept in mind for years and everything - down to the perfect space becoming available - fell into place to finally make it happen. Check out some pics of the space!

I’ll keep the description short because you can go to Ballroom College’s website to read more, but I at least want to share the basic concept with you.

Ballroom College is a dance studio like most dance studio. We have a big open floor for teaching dance lessons. We offer private and group dance classes. You can learn to dance for fun or for a social event like a wedding. We regularly host socials and other events for our clients. The list goes on-and-on for how were similar to other studios. But what’s interesting is how we’re different.

Ballroom College’s lessons are solely taught by teachers-in-training. Yes, that’s right, clients learn from a teacher who is learning how to teach ballroom dance - think barber college for a haircut, except with dance. The odd thing to me is that there’s no other studio like this in the U.S., if not the world!

I came up with this concept because training dancers to be ballroom teachers is pricey. Every year my studios spend $20,000+ training people to teach in order to cover demand for lessons. With the Ballroom College concept, the teachers are either paying us to learn or are on scholarship (which means tuition is free), yet we charge for the lessons they teach, which allows us to supplement the cost of training. Ballroom College essentially gives us a stable of teachers we can choose from whenever one of the Ballroom Dance Chicago studios needs a teacher. It also offers us another revenue stream that comes from very different clientele - the college, since the lessons are roughly 50% the price of BDC’s lessons, attracts a very different clients.

Ok, enough explanation for now. What’s important is that I’m proud of this concept and I’d be honored if you’d read more about the studio on Ballroom College’s website.
